Ah....so you've taken the step that you want to build your own website? That is very commendable and as a small business owner you will be strapped for time. I know, because it is the same for me - I am a small business owner and I have been looking around for easy ways to build a website.

Building a simple website is pretty easy - if you've used a wordprocessor, then there are tools around and some of them are free to build your webpages. This means you don't have to get into html if you don't want to.

There are many editors out there. Do a search for "Web Page Editor" and download them. They can be downloaded in minutes and you can be off creating your webpage. These free tools are brilliant and very cost effective - I do recommend them. BUT - sorry about this, but there is a but and its this. You've created your website and it looks classy and very professional. But then you start monitoring the traffic that is coming to your website. You find its is low, perhap 1 or 2 clicks a month.

A website that has no traffic is a bit like an empty house - after a while, it start to look tired and no one wants to visit it. The same applies to a website, you want visitors and lots of them coming to your website. You need to provide them with good quality content and you also need to be able to interact with them. You know you have a great product and if you had the traffic, your sales will undoubtly mushroom.

What you need is a BLOG. That's right, this will enable your visitors to be able to interact with you and ask questions, provide comments about your product and service.

Creating a blog is also very straight forward - The installation takes minutes and you can be up and running very quickly. This will build up dynamic content for your web estate and with quality content your visitor numbers will rise.

You are a small business and you've decided that you need a web presence that gets you results. After all, there isn't any point in having a website that no one visits. Sorry to state the obvious, but not everyone who is new in the internet world realises that.

However, you are no IT geek and don't really want to learn all that HTML stuff - you need something easy to get you going, but will build you long term results. It's not gonna happen overnight, but with a little effort, anyone can build there website estate - quicker than you might think! Sometimes as easy as using a word processor.
